A Defect Diagnosis Report (or Specific Defect Reports) will advise the client on the cause, or causes, of a specific defect within a property such as structural movement or dampness. The report will advise what repair or remedial work options may be available and where necessary provide advice on any further investigations required.  We can also provide an estimated costs as well as identifying suitable contractors to undertake the works.

Typical defects include:

  • Structural movement or cracking and subsidence

  • Dampness, timber decay or condensation

  • Defective roof coverings or other external finishes

  • Bowed or overloaded roofs or other structural elements

  • Previous alterations including walls or chimneys that have been removed
